This spring the Embassy welcomed Minna Crozier in the newly established position as Senior Commercial Advisor, due to the region's attractive market for Norwegian businesses.
‘My job is to support Norwegian businesses either who wants to establish themselves here or who wants to export their products to either the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait. In addition, it is also about increasing the interest among the locals for investing in Norway,’ Mrs. Minna Crozier says.
Mrs. Crozier, whose office is at the Norwegian Consulate in Dubai, receives many questions from Norwegian companies and entrepreneurs who are interested in the markets.
‘There is a lot of questions about the custom regulations, perspectives and understanding of the laws,’ she explains.

Green technology, renewable energy future priorities
Mrs. Crozier is an economist with experience from small and medium-sized Norwegian companies. Her last position was as Managing Director of a company in marine technology. She sees a range of areas that Norwegian companies and entrepreneurs can make an impact in the UAE and gulf region.
‘Green technology, sustainability and renewable energy are the future priorities in the UAE and Norway is permoming well in these areas already,’ she says.
‘Norway as a country, business partner and producer of products have a good reputation in general, which is easy to continue.’

‘Seafood and equipment
Seafood is an important priority, especially now that the Norwegian Seafood Council have gotten their own representative for the UAE, who Mrs. Crozier work closely together with.
‘Norway is also performing well in areas such as health services and equipment, military equipment and education, which I also focus on,’ she explains.

Mrs. Crozier advices those who are interested in starting something up to be aware of the business culture they are dealing with.
‘Be thorough in the preparations, know the cultural aspects and differences, also when it comes to communication. Maintain a high profile on quality and know how on every level. Be extra careful if something seems too good to be true,’ says Mrs. Crozier.
